Serveral days ago the OnePlus 7T cracked during a torture test. Now JerryRigEverything (real name Zack Nelson) reviews the inside though a teardown.
Zack opens up the OnePlus 7T to see what it’s made of and review the OnePlus 7T from the inside.
The OnePlus 7T teardown shows that the design is purely aesthetic and serves no functional purpose.
The cameras underneath are all aligned in a row and there is nothing that would have benefited from the new design.
If OnePlus had stuck to its old design, there is a chance that it could have had a sturdier glass back.
But the good news is that may be the only criticism about the OnePlus 7T. Everything save for the lack of a headphone jack and microSD card expansion gets a thumbs up from the YouTuber.
Further, the OnePlus 7T teardown video shows that when the smartphone is opened, the ribbon connection of the components with the motherboard are surrounded by a red-colored rubber gasket, which makes the smartphone water-resistant.
This is interesting because OnePlus didn't mention any certification that claims that the device is waterproof. However, it has everything to make the smartphone water resistant, except for the IP ratings for certification.
The OnePlus 7T also comes with dual speakers at the top. Sometimes, when manufacturers claim stereo speakers, they just bump up the volume for the earpiece — Samsung and Apple both have done this.
However, OnePlus is actually using two speakers when it is claiming stereo speakers. This brings the total speaker count on the smartphone to three.
Here is the video:
In the previous torture test by JerryRigEverything, Zack started with the front Gorilla Glass scratching between levels 6 and 7, and the display surviving being held to an open flame.
The bend test is where things go south. The "frosted glass" back of the phone cracks almost as soon as Zack starts bending it.
