Alibaba has released another artificial intelligence model, this time zeroing in on the core demands of developers.
The model, dubbed Qwen3.6-Plus, further expands the company's lineup of AI products, according to a statement from Alibaba on Thursday.
The new model achieves a leap in coding agent capabilities, demonstrating more stable task execution in scenarios such as front-end page generation and code debugging.
The model supports a 1-million-token context window by default, enabling more precise information extraction from lengthy documents and multi-turn dialogues. Meanwhile, its multimodal perception and reasoning capabilities have also been optimized.
Qwen3.6-Plus stands out in real-world agent capability benchmarks, with Alibaba touting it as "China's most capable model for programming."
The system can autonomously handle complex code management and lowers the barrier to entry for programming, making "vibe coding" — using natural language to drive AI code generation — truly practical.
Trained on native multimodal data, the model has developed sharper comprehension and perception skills. It can execute tasks such as front-end page generation and code completion based on interface screenshots or natural language descriptions, Alibaba said.
Qwen3.6-Plus is currently available on Alibaba Cloud's Bailian platform, priced as low as 2 yuan ($0.29) per million input tokens. It has also been integrated into Alibaba's AI applications and platforms, including Wukong and the Qwen app.
Alibaba Cloud's Bailian supports industry-standard protocols, allowing users to seamlessly integrate the API into popular third-party programming assistants like OpenClaw and Claude Code.
This is one of several closed-source models recently rolled out by Alibaba, as the company seeks to generate more profit from its AI business.
On March 31, Alibaba launched Qwen3.5-Omni, a fully multimodal AI model, aiming to make further strides in AI's interaction with the physical world.
