Tablet shipments in the Chinese mainland fell 24 percent year-over-year in the second quarter, according to a report released by Canalys on Friday.
Apple's share fell to 31 percent, down from 45 percent in the second quarter of last year. Samsung and Lenovo saw year-over-year growth of 78 percent and 299 percent, ranking third and fourth, respectively.
Huawei shipped more than 1 million units, down more than 60 percent, driven by multiple sanctions and Honor's independence.
Honor ranked fifth, with shipments of 600,000 units, thanks largely to the expansion of its offline channel, the report said.
Total PC shipments in the Chinese mainland reached 19.4 million units in the second quarter, down 3 percent year-over-year and up 13 percent from the first quarter.
Lenovo further strengthened its leadership position, growing 31 percent year-over-year to gain 40 percent market share with 5.6 million units shipped, the report said.
Dell achieved a 32 percent year-over-year increase, thanks to significant growth in its PCs and workstations, the report said.
HP and Asus both moved up in the rankings due to Huawei's slip, coming in third and fourth. HP's shipments fell 3 percent year-over-year to 1.1 million units. ASUS shipped 900,000 units, up 25 percent.
Huawei ranked fifth with shipments of 500,000 units, plunging 64 percent year-over-year.
