AntChain, the blockchain division of Ant Group, on Wednesday unveiled the Blockchain Transmission Network (BTN), which claims to increase the throughput of blockchain networks by 186 percent, reduce bandwidth costs by 80 percent and reduce latency by 40 percent.
BTN is a communications technology solution for global trusted digital network construction, applying real-time communications technology to blockchain scenarios to make the trusted flow of information faster, more secure and more stable, AntChain said at its first developer conference.
The rapid development of communication networks in the past has solved the efficiency problem of information interaction and transmission and brought people closer together. However, due to the lack of a reliable trust mechanism, traditional means of communication cannot fully guarantee the authenticity and integrity of information.
Blockchain, as a trust technology, can provide a credible flow channel for data and solve the trust problem of industrial collaboration.
Yan Ying, Technical Director of Blockchain Platform of Smart Technology Business Group of Ant Group, said BTN is a new communication solution that will facilitate industrial collaboration and promote the early arrival of large-scale industrial collaboration.
BTN is already in use in cities including Shanghai, Zhangjiakou, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and Singapore, and blockchain platforms in Western Europe and Southeast Asia can already choose to access and enjoy the high-speed communication network services brought by BTN nearby.
In addition to BTN, AntChain unveiled a developer community support program at its developer conference to facilitate trusted industry collaboration networks with blockchain, secure computing, IoT and other technologies.
To date, the developer community has included more than 330 institutional partners and nearly 10,000 developers who have worked together to create more than 30 innovative industry applications, AntChain said.
