Tablet shipments in China up 5.6% YoY to 6.14 million units in Q4, says IDC

The Chinese tablet market shipped approximately 6.14 million units in the fourth quarter of 2020, up 5.6 percent year-on-year, according to IDC.

Global tablet shipments reached 52.2 million units, up 19.5% year-on-year, driven by increased demand from the impact of Covid-19.

Leading vendors including Apple and Huawei continued to see supply shortages since last quarter, making it difficult to meet the strong consumer demand during the year-end shopping season.

Other vendors have relatively sufficient supply, but have difficulty in quickly gaining consumers' favor in terms of brand pull and product competitiveness, thus filling the market gap for the top vendors.
