China produced 1.99 billion lithium-ion batteries in September, up 26.6 percent year-on-year; lithium-ion battery production in the January-September period increased 7.8 percent year-on-year to 12.57 billion, according to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In September, lead-acid battery output was 22.602 million volt-hours, up 25.2 percent year-on-year; primary battery and primary battery pack output was 3.86 billion units, up 7.8 percent year-on-year.
From January to September, the output of lead-acid batteries was 161.092 million kVA, up 12.9 percent year-on-year; the output of primary batteries and primary battery packs was 29.32 billion units, down 1.2 percent year-on-year.
From January to September, the operating revenue of battery manufacturing enterprises above designated size nationwide was 532.59 billion yuan, down 4.8 percent year-on-year, with a total profit of 26.74 billion yuan, up 8.3 percent year-on-year.
