ICBC starts using Alibaba's OceanBase database for important business systems-CnTechPost

Alipay, a subsidiary of Alibaba, said today that the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)'s key business system, the corporate wealth management system, has recently completed the transformation from mainframe to distributed architecture and is running smoothly on financial level database OceanBase.

This is the first time ICBC is running a critical business system on a database developed by Alibaba.

OceanBase is a distributed database of Ant Group that has been running for more than 10 years and has already been running smoothly on core systems such as Alipay and Internet Merchant Bank.

As a mature commercial database product, it supports full ACID characteristics and has three significant advantages: scalability, consistency, and high availability.

At the same time, OceanBase is highly compatible with MySQL and Oracle and has advanced technologies such as off-site multi-activity.

ICBC has always been an avid supporter of IT architecture innovation, from electronic to digital, ICBC has always been at the forefront of IT architecture innovation.

In recent years, ICBC has actively embraced innovative digital technologies such as cloud computing, big data, distributed, and artificial intelligence.

ICBC's corporate banking system is an important business system for the bank, supporting trillion-dollar assets for corporate clients, and has previously been running on top of the mainframe architecture.

As the bank's overall digital transformation accelerates, the ICBC corporate banking system is the first system to be transformed into a distributed system based on OceanBase.

Previously, OceanBase has been applied in many financial institutions, including Bank of Nanjing, PICC Health, Changshu Rural Commercial Bank, Suzhou Bank, Guangdong Rural Credit Union, and other dozens of commercial banks and insurance companies.
