E Ink unveils 10.3-inch foldable e-paper

E Ink Corporation, an electronic paper R&D and manufacturing company, today announced the a new 10.3-inch foldable e-paper.

The company said the 10.3-inch e-ink screen device is stowable and easy to carry when not in use. When you need to use it, it has a large, easy-to-read display.

The 10.3-inch foldable e-paper is suitable for future use in products such as e-paper book readers and e-paper notebooks, the company said.

The E Ink research and development team has designed the 10.3-inch foldable e-paper mechanism with a reading light to provide a comfortable, eye-friendly reading experience that is not limited by ambient light, it said.

E Ink was founded in 1997 based on research conducted at the MITMedia Lab, a research lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

On June 1, 2009, E Ink announced that it had agreed to be acquired by Prime View International of Taiwan, a major business partner of E Ink, for a total of $215 million.
