Huawei unveils new plan to help Chinese internet companies explore overseas markets

Huawei on July 23 announced the launch of the Huawei Shining-Star Program to help Chinese Internet companies and developers tap into overseas markets for their applications.

Zhang Ping'an, president of Huawei's consumer cloud services, announced the program in a presentation on HMS at the Internet Conference in China.

He mentioned that there are currently 700 million monthly active users of Huawei devices worldwide, 1.6 million registered developers worldwide, and more than 81,000 applications connected to HMS Core.

According to Zhang Ping'an, technological advances are accelerating the advent of the smart society, but the digital divide still exists, and many people around the world are still not mobile connected and unable to enjoy the life and development dividends of the mobile Internet.

Huawei has been working with its partners and developers around the world to explore Internet innovation and continues to implement the TECH4ALL Digital Inclusion Program to bring the benefits of digital technology to every person, family and organization.

Through this new program, Huawei hopes to inspire the best Chinese innovators to work with HMS to accelerate globalization and support more Chinese Internet innovations to go global.

Huawei has already launched a US$1 billion Rising Star program globally to encourage developers to join the HMS ecosystem to innovate, and has already inspired more than 10,000 innovative applications worldwide.

Huawei is now building a global HMS ecosystem that connects partners' innovative applications, content and services to 700 million Huawei end users worldwide.

Through HMS Core, Huawei is opening up significant resources to developers, such as machine learning, HiAI, and AR engine capabilities.

According to Zhang Ping'an, HMS Core 5.0 is now available globally, further opening up Huawei's hardware and software capabilities. At the same time, Huawei also provides services covering the entire lifecycle of "Idea - Development - Distribution - Operation - Analysis" to help developers focus on application innovation.
