Taobao enters education sector with aim to help firms get new students-CnTechPost

Alibaba's e-commerce platform Taobao today announced its entry into the education sector, with the aim to build a new online education infrastructure to help over 1,000 institutions in the next three years each get over 100,000 new students.

In March of this year, the Taobao Education Division was established, with Juhuasuan, Taobao Industry, C2M, Content E-Commerce and other departments Parallel, reporting to Taobao Tmall President Jiang Fan.

Currently there are tens of thousands of institutions on Taobao such as New Oriental, TAL Education, VIPKID, and Houda Education.

Taobao has no shortage of education products, and with the massive outbreak of online education earlier this year, Taobao also speeded up the digitization of the education industry, according to Huang Lei, general manager of Taobao's education division.

"Taobao is the biggest window into user demand, and we will also empower institutions with data-based demand analysis capabilities and industry trend insights to enable The course can also be customized for C2M. In Taobao, courses will be as rich as products and learning will be as easy as shopping." He said.

Currently, users can search for "Taobao Education" on Taobao directly to access the collection of high-quality courses, or redeem the Ant points through Alipay for education classes.

The curriculum covers areas such as K12, exams, language learning, hobbies, and vocational skills.
