TCL sells Android TVs in U.S. for first time, prices start at 9

TCL announced it will begin selling smart TVs based on Google's Android TV platform.

TCL says it will "[leverage] its multi-year mobile device partnership with Google" to bring these New TVs to the US.

TCL has offered Android TV models overseas in the past, but since 2014, it has only been offering models running Roku in the U.S.  

TCL's line of built-in Roku Smart TVs are very popular in the U.S., largely due to their value proposition.

TCL's affordable panels typically offer top features and picture quality at a fraction of the price of the competition.

Now, the same features will be available on Google's Android TV platform using essentially the same hardware. 

TCL TVs with Roku built in continue to be sold. Currently, there are only 2 TCL models available on Google, and Best Buy now offers Available in 32-inch 720P and 40-inch 1080P resolution TVs, with 32-inch Priced at $129, the 40-inch retails for $199.99.
