Huawei's voice assistant Celia went live with a firmware update in six overseas countries, including the UK, France, Spain, Chile, Mexico and Colombia.
Celia is available in English, French and Spanish. Users can wake up Celia by saying "Hey Celia" to the phone, or by pressing the power button for one second.
Huawei says Celia can facilitate users in different scenarios.
During working hours, users can use Celia to set an alarm clock, send text messages, check the weather, make phone calls, and other functions.
During leisure time, Celia can help users play videos, shop smartly, count calories, and adjust the phone to eye protection, silent mode and more.
During the tour, users can use Celia to take photos, translate menus, communicate with locals, plan routes, schedule reminders and more.
Huawei notes that the presence of Celia does not pose a threat to users' privacy and security. The user's sound clips will only be stored in a secure area of the device and will not be uploaded to the Huawei Cloud.
Huawei's voice assistant in the Chinese market is called "Xiaoyi", and on March 26, Huawei announced for the first time in the online launch of the P40 series that the international version of the voice assistant Celia will go live.
With the EMUI version 10.1.0.121 update, Celia is now live.
Huawei says Celia will expand with more features in the future, and will expand to more countries and regions.
Huawei also plans to use Celia on other devices from Huawei and Pride brands, such as smart screens and other smart home products.
