Starting today, the Shanghai Metro is piloting the launch of real-time information such as passenger flow status.

The service integrates a number of technologies, such as big data and cloud services, to achieve a real-time collection of information such as passenger flow status, train travel position, train temperature, etc.

The train operation data uploading cloud platform automatically calculates and implements wireless transmission, dynamic feedback, and sharing of train passenger operations.

Passengers can use the Metro App to view information such as average fullness rates on each line, train car congestion, and more in real-time. Some trains on the line can also display real-time temperature on a pilot basis, helping passengers to choose a more comfortable travel experience on their own.

Based on the pilot, the operator also plans to gradually expand the passenger flow information inquiry service to the official website, microblogging, WeChat and other platforms, so as to facilitate passenger selection through multiple channels.
