After a phone is lost or stolen, the location of the device can be locked, and the same can be done with laptops in the near future.
On Thursday, Intel and Tile announced a partnership to integrate the latter's tracking technology into laptops equipped with Intel hardware that could be more easily tracked in the future if lost or stolen.
Tile CEO CJ Prober says laptops and portable devices are more critical than ever because most of the world's people now work from home.
"Our partnership with Intel means we will be ready to help PC users avoid disruptions and be able to fast-track their devices when work resumes."
In the press release, Tile will offer a solution for OEMs to adopt later this year, allowing customers to locate their laptops even if the device is in hibernation mode.
In fact, this is not the first time Tile has been integrated into a notebook. Back at CES in January, Tile announced a partnership with HP to embed its tracking technology into the PC manufacturer's Elite Dragonfly G2.
