E Ink's new tech dramatically reduces writing delays on e-papers-CnTechPost

E Ink Corporation, an electronic paper R&D and manufacturing company, announced today that its first electronic paper timing control chip with MIPI DSI standard interface, the E Ink Hardware TCON T1000 (T1000), has been adopted by Chinese tech firm iFlytek.

E Ink said that the T10000 chip helps to increase the display rate of pencils on notebooks equipped with electronic paper. In the user experience test, the pen display delay of the Migu iFlytek smart notebook is only about 30 milliseconds.

The timing control chip T1000 has a liquid crystal display standard MIPI DSI interface, and integrates E Ink's unique electronic paper imaging algorithm and electronic paper drive waveform.

It simplifies the communication protocol of system chip and electronic paper timing control, and can support various system architectures such as Android, Windows, Linux and so on.

E Ink said that when the electronic paper is displayed with the pen writing function, from the writing of the pen to the display, it must be processed through sensor processing, time-sharing operating system scheduling, handwriting algorithm logic processing, and electronic ink development processing.

Therefore, the electronic paper writing display is slightly delayed compared with the traditional writing speed.

E Ink said that the T1000 chip uses software to process the operating time of the time-sharing operating system scheduling and handwriting algorithm logic processing, which can greatly reduce the delay of the electronic paper in the writing display.
