Honor today held its first new product launch event in 2020 and released its first 5G mobile phone of the Honor 30 series -- Honor 30S.
The Honor 30S is first equipped with a 7nm Kirin 820 5G SOC chip, which is upgraded again on the basis of the Kirin 810.
Its 8-core CPU performance increased by 27%, the new architecture GPU graphics capabilities increased by 38%, and the newly upgraded NPU AI performance increased by 73%.
The Kirin 820 is equipped with one 2.36GHz large core (A76) + three 2.22GHz medium cores (A76) + four 1.84GHz small cores (A55). It integrates self-developed DaVinci NPU.
In terms of GPU, Kirin 820 is equipped with Mali-G57 6-core GPU and supports GPU Turbo and Kirin Gaming + 2.0 technology.
Kirin 820 adopts Kirin ISP 5.0, which is the same as Kirin 990 and supports BM3D SLR image noise reduction and video dual-domain noise reduction.
Its ISP throughput increased by 15%, energy efficiency increased by 15%, photo noise reduction increased by 30%, and video noise reduction increased by 20%.
5G capability is a major selling point of Kirin 820. It integrates the same baseband of Kirin 990 5G (derived from Baron 5000), supports 2G/3G/4G/5G multi-standard, especially 5G supports SA/NSA dual-mode, and supports the three major operators, has five frequency bands N1/N3/N41/N78/N79 and supports 5G smart dual card.
Honor said that Kirin 820 5G SoC is a comprehensive "superior student" in the six core experiences of CPU, GPU, AI, 5G search, and 5G uplink/downlink.
In appearance ID, Honor 30S continues the texture design of Honor 20S butterfly feathers, and upgrades to the double-layer diaphragm process, just like a colorful butterfly.
It has a 6.5-inch full-screen, 2.4mm ultra-narrow side fingerprints, and offers four colors: butterfly feather green, butterfly feather white, butterfly feather red, and magic night black.
The Honor 30S continues the Honor family's classic Matrix Camera matrix design and is equipped with a 64-megapixel full-focus AI quad-camera.
