Alibaba’s e-commerce platform Taobao App will roll out dark mode to all users but the exact time is not determined.
Recently, a large number of applications including WeChat have gradually adapted to the dark mode.
Taobao for iOS beta version also previously supported the iOS 13 dark mode, but the official version has never actually been launched, only for some users gray test.
Now, Taobao said that the dark mode of Taobao App will be fully launched recently, but the specific time has not been determined.
According to Taobao's previous introduction, referring to Apple's adaptation recommendations, the dark mode needs to be adapted by means of semantic colors, which can allow UI elements to flexibly adapt to light and dark mode switching.
Semantic color refers to the definition and description of the element UI through "purpose", rather than specific color values.
Semantic colors need to support multiple technology frameworks, hundreds of business operations, and be compatible with multiple brand systems, a wide range of products and content, and complex conference venues throughout the year.
Taobao said that if you set the color semantics for all pages in the application, the difficulty and workload are huge, which is tantamount to redeveloping it again.
