Chinese communications equipment giant Huawei Technologies recently announced that it will donate 500,000 masks to Japanese hospitals, according to the Asahi Shimbun.
Previously, the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group founder Ma Yun's non-profit foundation has donated 1 million pieces. OPPO, Ctrip, and China Construction Bank have also provided medical support in Japan.
On March 19, Huawei donated 100,000 masks to Fujita Medical University Hospital in Fengming, Aichi Prefecture, and Aichi Medical University Hospital in Nagakute, Japan.
Among them, Fujita Medical University Hospital in Aichi has participated in the treatment of the "Diamond Princess" Chinese passenger.
The 200,000 masks are the first batch of medical resources to assist Japan. The next 30 masks will be donated to medical institutions in other regions in Japan.
According to Wang Jianfeng, chairman of Huawei Japan, 150,000 of the 500,000 masks donated this time are medical high-performance N95 masks.
"At the time of the worst outbreak in China, we received sincere assistance from Japan. Huawei is providing support to medical institutions struggling to fight in the frontline, and we hope to help each other in Japan to overcome this difficult situation."
