Samsung Electronics said on Friday that the company has temporarily closed its smartphone factory in Gumi, a city in southeastern South Korea, as another worker was tested positive for coronavirus.
A Samsung Electronics spokesman said the plant will resume production on Saturday. The Gumi plant is responsible for the production of Samsung's flagship smartphones, the S20 and Z Flip folding screen phones.
So far, six employees at the plant have been infected with the new coronavirus, which has temporarily suspended the plant. On Sunday, a worker at the plant became infected with the virus, and Samsung temporarily closed the plant.
Last month, Samsung also briefly closed the plant due to the outbreak.
Gumi's factory is relatively close to Daegu, South Korea, which is the center of a new crown virus outbreak in South Korea. Hundreds and thousands of people have been infected with the virus.
