Bytedance, which runs content aggregator Jinri Toutiao and short video platform Douyin, has launched the "Toutiao Search" standalone app and is now available on major Android app stores.

Toutiao Search App can search content beyond the Toutiao ecosystem. However, as of press time, the "Toutiao Search" application has not yet been found in Apple‘s App Store.

ByteDance said that the search app is still in the testing phase and has not been officially launched.

In August 2019, Toutiao search web version was launched at https://m.toutiao.com/search. But after changing the "m" at the beginning of the Toutiao search site to "www", you can only find the content on the Toutiao site.

ByteDance Recruitment officials announced earlier in 2019 that it will build a universal search engine from 0 to 1.
