In May 2019, Nio announced that it has signed a framework agreement with Beijing Yizhuang International Investment Development Co., Ltd. ("Yizhuang SDIC").
According to the agreement, Nio will set up a new entity "Nio China" in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, and inject specific businesses and assets into "Nio China". "Nio China" invested RMB 10 billion in cash to acquire the non-controlling shareholders' equity in "Nio China".
At that time, Nio stated that Yizhuang SDIC would also assist "Nio China" in the construction or introduction of a third party to jointly build Nio China's advanced manufacturing base and produce the company's second-generation platform models.
