In the future, we will continue to strengthen the financial interoperability between Hong Kong, Macau and the Mainland. Mobile payment is the cornerstone of the development of fintech.

Tencent Fintech added the WeChat Pay HK cross-border payment function as early as the end of 2018. This year, WeChat Pay HK plans to upgrade the cross-border payment service in the Greater Bay Area to expand the service area from the Mainland to Macau.

WeChat Pay HK will launch a cross-border payment service from Hong Kong users to Macau, and will also actively promote the use of WeChat Pay HK services by Macao residents when they travel or work in Hong Kong.

Chen Qiru, vice president of Tencent Financial Technology, said that in the future, WeChat Pay HK will continue to explore cooperation opportunities with more institutions to provide residents of Hong Kong and Macau with a better electronic consumer experience.
