A Nio staff confirmed that the Hefei manufacturing base and the Nanjing XPT base have resumed work, and return rate of workers have gradually increased from 50% to 80%.
On February 23, Victor, the head of the Nio Hefei manufacturing base, posted an article on the Nio APP, announcing the resumption of work at the Jianghuai Nio manufacturing base, and responding to questions from users of the vehicle to be mentioned regarding vehicle production and delivery during the epidemic.
Victor said that during the Spring Festival, the quality team led the factory to evaluate all aspects and conditions of the factory to ensure that it returned to the level before the Spring Festival before resuming production.
Currently, affected by the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, traffic control has led to the need to isolate returnees, making returning to work the biggest problem. Nio is no exception.
In the text, Victor gave an example of the "story" of three Nio employees returning to work. Including Zhou Peng, who works in the quality department of the Hefei plant, Hai Tao, who works in the manufacturing technology department in Hefei, and Dahua, who works in the Nio supplier Fu Yao.
Victor said that the three of them experienced a 1610km round trip to Hefei in 24 hours, made more than 20 phone calls in 2 hours to get the "customs clearance", and a "hard return journey" by walking more than ten kilometers to the high-speed rail station.
According to Victor, on February 10, Jianghuai Nio manufacturing base and Nanjing XPT New Energy Auto Parts Headquarters have resumed work, and the overall capacity of Nanjing XPT's three power products has recovered 95%.
However, due to the impact of the epidemic on Hubei, especially the supply chain center, Wuhan, the current supply chain capacity of the factory has yet to be restored.
Victor said that since the factory resumed work for more than ten days, returnees have gradually increased from 50% to 80%.
Nio shares went down 5% in pre-market trading as the global markets plunged due to fears of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.
