Perhaps because of cost, OnePlus smartphones have always lagged behind competitors in terms of water resistance and dust resistance. But things may change with the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.

It's unclear whether OnePlus plans to provide support for the standard on both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, or just support on higher-end Pro models.
OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are expected to be equipped with 6.5-inch and 6.65-inch Fluid AMOLED displays, supporting 120Hz refresh rate, equipped with Snapdragon 865 processor, support for wireless charging and 5G.
