The 41st, 49th, 50th, and 51st satellites of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System have entered the network after completing on-orbit tests and network access assessments, according to chinanews.com.
Among them, the 41st and 49th satellites were developed by the China Academy of Space Technology and were launched at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on November 1, 2018 and November 5, 2019, respectively.
The 50th and 51st satellites were developed by the Institute of Microsatellite Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and launched on November 23, 2019 at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center.
Since November 2017, China has successfully carried out 18 network launches in succession, successfully sending 28 Beidou III network satellites and 2 Beidou II backup satellites into scheduled orbits.
The frequency of launching 1.2 satellites per month has set a world record for the speed of the global satellite navigation system, the report said.
At present, the Beidou-3 global system networking has entered the final stage. According to the plan, China will launch two geostationary orbit satellites in the first half of 2020, completing all networked satellite launches six months ahead of schedule.
