Huawei nova 7i is the second mobile phone launched by Huawei in the international market. It runs the Android 10-based EMUI10 and is not preinstalled with Google Mobile Services (GMS). Instead, it comes pre-installed with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).
In September last year, Huawei released the Huawei Mate 30 series, which is the first flagship mobile phone equipped with Android 10 + HMS. Due to the U.S. trade ban, Google is prohibited from authorizing the use of GMS licenses for Huawei's new mobile devices.
Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) integrates Huawei's chips, devices, and cloud functions, including a complete HMS core service product portfolio, related IDE tool platforms for development and testing, and key applications for Huawei devices.
The absence of GMS means that Huawei nova 7i is equipped with applications such as AppGallery App Store, Huawei Assistant and Huawei Browser, Huawei Cloud, Huawei Wallet and Huawei Video, Huawei Music and Huawei Reader.
In addition to Huawei nova 7i, Huawei also launched the Huawei nova 6 series, Honor V30 series and Huawei MatePad Pro equipped with EMUI10 and HMS last year in China, but these phones have not landed in overseas markets.
