Microsoft introduced Dark Mode for Outlook in August 2019 and began a broader redesign of the app early last year. The new look and features include the long-awaited dark mode.
Now the tech giant has decided to open source it to provide a better dark mode solution for Outlook for iOS users. The solution is currently available on GitHub.
Developers can enable Outlook for iOS Dark Mode code in iOS 11 and above. It also includes features such as the ability to adjust the light/dark theme without restarting the app.
Microsoft said that the solution is a simple API design, and developers only need to make minimal changes and adjustments to existing apps.

Apple added support for dark mode in iOS 13, but Microsoft solutions support mobile operating systems for iOS 11 and later.
Other developers can use this to achieve dynamic color matching with dark backgrounds, but it should be noted that this solution is suitable for application development using Swift 5 and later, or Xcode 11 and later.
Previously, Microsoft had been talking about dark mode and planned to provide cross-platform Office 365 application suite support. As companies begin to embrace the open source community, they may be able to better promote their development on competing platforms in the future.
