Hongqi, a brand under China's FAW Group, unveiled the Hongqi E115 concept car which is dubbed China's "Rolls-Royce Cullinanโ€ at the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show. Now latest information showed that the car will be mass-produced.

The car maker will start production of a pure electric SUV code-named E115 in 2020, according to the recent Environmental Protection Agency documents. The total investment of the project is 1.75 billion yuan, and a total of 51,500 vehicles will be produced within the planned six-year period.

The E115 is based on the FMA platform and is positioned as a high-end pure electric SUV. Hongqi said that the new car will use four-wheel drive, with seven driving modes to choose from. Its 0-100km/h acceleration time is less than 4 seconds, and the vehicle's maximum cruising range exceeds 600 kilometers.

In addition, the new car is also equipped with an air suspension structure, and also has an L4 level of autonomous driving.

In appearance, the front face of HongqiE115 has a strong visual impact, and the closed intake grille is a common design for pure electric models. The Hongqi LOGO in the center of the front of the car highlights the uniqueness of the car.

The front side of the new car is exaggerated by LED light sources. The rear-view mirrors on both sides are very small. It is expected that the camera will replace the traditional mirror to further highlight the sense of technology, or it will become the first independent brand car in China to use this technology.

From the rear, the new car's through-hole full ELD taillights echo the front of the car. At the same time, the slender taillights extend to both sides and branch off at the end, continuing to outline the tougher body lines at the rear, making the overall look It doesn't look monotonous.

In addition to the initial results achieved by the Hongqi brand for its mid-range products, it has not stopped its pace in the high-end luxury market.

In the next five years, the Hongqi brand will form 21 new products covering the four series of L (Extreme Car), S (coupe), H (Mainstream Car), and Q (Business Car). Hongqi officially announced that its sales target for 2020 is 200,000 vehicles.
