WeChat team says more than 48,000 accounts fined in 2019-CnTechPost

The WeChat Security Center issued an announcement ย on January 21 saying that in 2019, the WeChat team continued to crack down on online fraud, and a total of more than 48,000 accounts were confirmed to have committed fraud.

The WeChat team restricted more than 10,000 confirmed fraudulent payment accounts, and performed a restricted group function (blocking group) on more than 12,000 WeChat groups that confirmed fraud.

The WeChat team stated that in combination with user complaints and uniting various teams, the WeChat team has established a set of universal and reliable fraud risk prevention and control solutions to cover fraud on WeChat from various dimensions and scenarios.

In addition to banning the confirmation of fraudulent accounts, the WeChat team said that it will continue to dig into malicious groups to combat fraudulent numbers, organize fraud groups and malicious collection numbers.
