Honor released the Honor 9X, its first smartphone with a pop-up camera, in the Indian market on Tuesday.
The device was launched in China in July and then released in Europe in October 2019.
The model sold in China has a Kirin 810 processor and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, while the European version has a Kirin 710F processor and a back-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Since Honor is still unable to certify Kirin 810 with Google, the Indian market gets the same version as the one sold in Europe.
The phone released in India has a 6.59-inch FullView Full HD+ display, without any notch or hole-punch cutout. It is powered by HiSilicon's 12nm Kirin 710F chipset with GPU Turbo 3.0, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The device has a triple camera array at the back with a 48MP main camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture lens. It also has an 8MP super-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth camera. It features a 16MP pop-up front camera with support for 3D Portrait Lighting.
The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 13 hours of video playback and 8 hours of gaming. While the phone does come with a Type-C port, it lacks fast charging support.
It runs the Android 9-based EMUI 9.1. Honor has already released Android 10 beta for the 9X, so it shouldn't take very long for the stable update to become available.
The Honor 9X will be available for purchase in India on January 19, exclusively via Flipkart with the 4GB/128GB version is priced at โน13,999 ($197), the 6GB RAM version will set you back โน16,999 ($240).
