Synology released the entry-level NAS product DiskStation DS420j for individuals and home users at CES 2020.
DS420j is an upgrade of the current DS418j. There is almost no difference in appearance between the two, including the buttons on the front and the dual fans on the back.
DS420j is equipped with a 4-core 1.4GHz processor, which is an improvement over DS418j's dual-core 1.4GHz.
It has 1GB of DDR4 memory, four disk slots, and a maximum storage capacity of 64TB.
Its back interface includes a Gigabit RJ45 network port, two UBS 3.0 and so on.
DS420j encrypted transmission speed is up to 112MB/s, and the sleep power consumption is further reduced to 7.88W.
The suggested retail price of the DS420j is $286. The DS418j currently costs 2580 yuan ($370) in China, making it the cheapest 4-bay NAS product from Synology.
