Lenovo announced on Friday that it will relaunch the NEC PC business to the US market this spring. Previously, due to fierce competition and thin profits, the brand once faded from people's sight.
The NEC LaVie systems in question are NEC's popular LaVie Pro Mobile thin-and-light notebook, the LaVie Vega higher-performance laptop with a 15.6-inch OLED display, and the LaVie Home all-in-one desktop.
In French, la vie means "life". In Japan, NEC has long been known for being thin and light at less than 2 pounds (0.9 kg).
