Lenovo said on Tuesday that Zhao Yunming, Lenovo's vice president and head of Lenovo 's Asia-Pacific emerging markets, will become the new mobile business chief in China, after Chang Cheng announced his resignation from the position.
Earlier, Lenovo's vice president of Lenovo Group Chang Cheng posted a Weibo to confirm his departure from Lenovo.
Lenovo Group responded that Chang Cheng has struggled for a long time on the front line of highly competitive mobile phones and has endured tremendous business pressures. Based on personal health and wanting more energy to take care of the family, Chang Cheng recently proposed to leave.
Lenovo thanked him for his tremendous efforts, and he will continue to contribute to Lenovo's mobile business as a consultant for Lenovo Mobile.
Lenovo Group also stated that the routine work will be hosted by Zhao Yunming, Lenovo's vice president and head of Lenovo Mobile's Asia-Pacific emerging markets.
Chen Jin, the head of marketing for Lenovo Mobile China with extensive experience, will assist Zhao Yunming to jointly promote the development of mobile business in China.
Chang Cheng joined Lenovo in 2000 as the R&D Director of the Notebook Division, responsible for the research and development of Lenovo's desktop computers, notebook computers and smartphones.
In 2011, Chang Cheng led the team to create Lenovo's first mobile Internet product, Lenovo Music Store, which was then the largest and most secure Android software and Android game free download platform in China.
The subsequent launch of Eggplant Quick Pass was Lenovo's first Internet product with over 100 million users, and it was also the best near-field cross-platform file transfer tool in China at the time.
