Huawei expects to realize sales revenue of more than RMB 850 billion ($122 billion) in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 18%.
Xu Zhijun, Huawei's rotating chairman, said in a New Year's message issued on Tuesday that although the expectations for the beginning of the year were not met, the company's overall operation was stable and basically withstood the challenges.
He mentioned that Huawei's smartphone business maintained steady growth, with shipments exceeding 240 million units.
He also said that the construction and development of the HMS ecosystem is a necessary condition for overseas sales of smart terminals. In 2020, we must fully build the HMS ecosystem, support the sale of smart phones overseas, and promote innovation of application partners.
At a recent Huawei internal conference, Huawei 's consumer business CEO Richard Yu once revealed that Huawei 's global shipments of mobile phones will be around 230 million this year. "The 230 million units have completed the task for the whole year. How much can be achieved ultimately depends on the sprint in the last month."
More than a month ago, Huawei said that its global shipments of mobile phones exceeded 200 million units, two months ahead of last year. In addition, the latest news from the industry chain states that the global shipments of Huawei Mate30 series have exceeded 12 million units.
The agency had previously predicted that Huawei's smartphone shipments for the year would be 250 million. Last year, Huawei shipped 206 million smartphones.
