China will steadily advance the construction of 5G networks and strive to achieve 5G network coverage in all prefecture-level cities nationwide by the end of 2020, according to the 2020 China Industry and Information Technology Working Conference on Monday.

China will optimize and improve the quality of network supply, deepen universal telecommunications services, and focus on supporting network coverage in remote areas, officials said.

China will continue to improve IPv6 network quality and service capabilities, and support the integration and development of IPv6 in 5G, industrial Internet, and Internet of Vehicles.

Earlier, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom announced their respective first 50G commercial city lists. It can be seen that there are 55 first commercial 5G network commercial cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing.
