With the price of OnePlus smartphones constantly rising, OnePlus will not purely pursue for cheaper prices but value for money, Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus Mobile, said at today's Geek Park event.

Lau believes that it is very important to make products based on user value. For example, OnePlus invested 100 million yuan in customization costs in order to make 90Hz screens.

"A lot of the differences between high-end mobile phones and ordinary mobile phones are in the details. If you use 90Hz, you can't go back to 60Hz." He said that when you buy a car priced at 1 million, the main concern is not the parameters of the engine, but the details and workmanship, design, etc.

Asked why OnePlus didn't consider pushing ads in the system like other vendors, Lau said that it still made decisions from the perspective of user value. If one thing has no user value and it will cause interference to users, OnePlus will not do it.

However, this will also cause OnePlus to lose some of its revenue from Internet advertising. Pete Lau believes that when a product is made, it will naturally have a business model and it will naturally make money. "I have no ads, but I can make money by selling my cellphone a little more expensive."

The price of OnePlus mobile phones is indeed constantly rising, and it has sold more than 800 US dollars overseas. In Pete Lau's view, OnePlus will not purely pursue cheap, but value for money. The addition of many new technologies has also increased costs, and OnePlus will exceed user expectations below this price.

In addition to mobile phones, OnePlus launched TV products in India this year and has not yet released them in China.

Lau said that to compete with Apple and Samsung on mobile phones, it is necessary to focus on the flagship and use its power to a point. But the family scene is also very important, and I am also thinking about how to create a seamless Internet experience in the current size of OnePlus,

"I can't do anything, which is something I think about every day," he said.

He said that OnePlus TV will fight for domestic release next year.
