Report: Samsung ranks first in Q3 global 5G phone market share

In the third quarter of 2019, Samsung ranked first with its market share in the global 5G smartphone market standing at 74%, ,according to a IHS Markit report.

Global sales of 5G smartphones in the third quarter were 4.3 million, of which Samsung's 5G smartphone sales were 3.2 million, compared with 1.5 million in the second quarter, the report said.

Samsung sells far more 5G smartphone models than other mobile phone manufacturers, of which Samsung Galaxy Note 10 5G version is Samsung's most sold 5G mobile phone, totaling more than 1.6 million.

Huawei, Xiaomi, vivo, OPPO and ZTE's 5G mobile phone sales accounted for 17% of the total Q3 sales, about 700,000 units.
