Huawei is committed to working with German developers to build an open and secure application market and Huawei has the ability to develop its own app gallery and ecosystem, said Tian Wenhao, general manager of Huawei โ€™s German terminal business department.

Huawei held its AppGallery developer conference in Berlin on December 5. Tian Wenhao introduced that AppGallery provides another choice for many mobile application developers.

At present, Huawei's developer partners in Germany include both long-term local large enterprise organizations and a large number of small and medium-sized application developers.

"We have contacted Germany's top-ranked major applications and encouraged them to access our application market." Tian Wenhao said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency in Berlin.

He said that AppGallery can be pre-installed on all Huawei phones, covering more than 170 countries and regions such as China. Leading technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality powered by Huawei mobile phones and other hardware provide developers with a lot of new opportunities for innovation.

In addition, Huawei can provide a series of technical, marketing and financial support to these application developers.

According to Tian Wenhao, since the launch of the Huawei application market in April 2018, the total number of users in Germany has been about 5 million, and the number of monthly active users is about 2.5 million.

"German developers have an outstanding engineer spirit, which fits Huawei's corporate culture of excellence. The results show that many German consumers are also willing to use or purchase high-quality application products on AppGallery."

A total of hundreds of German developers participated in the conference that day. Lufthansa's mobile app was also officially launched on AppGallery on the same day.

"Our passengers can use this to facilitate check-in and get instant flight information," Claudia Butfass, Lufthansa's digital ground handling development project manager, told reporters. "Considering our huge market in China and Huawei mobile phones in China I am very optimistic about the success of this application project."
