Huawei released the latest nova 6 series on December 5 with one support only 4G networks and another have 5G capability. Both phones are equipped with the Kirin 990 processors.
In Huawei's product positioning, the nova series has been a smart phone product for young users. Compared with the P and Mate series, the nova 6 has a more youthful design.
The 5G and 4G versions of nova 6 have different internal structures, so the two phones also differ in their basic measurements.
The 5G version of nova 6 has a body size of 162.7 x 75.8 x 8.98 mm and weighs 212 grams, while the 4G version has a slight decrease in thickness (8.56 mm) and weight (197 grams).
The fingerprint and power button of the two phones are combined into one, and they are placed on the right side of the phone.
The nova 6 became the first mobile phone product of Huawei nova series to use a dual-hole screen design. The 6.57-inch dual-drilled screen still uses the LCD material, the screen resolution is 2400x1080 pixels, and the overall screen ratio is 85.06%.
The top left corner of the screen is wrapped with two front-facing lenses, the main lens is 32 million pixels, and the sub lens is a wide-angle lens with an 8-megapixel and 105° shooting range.
The nova 6 5G version and 4G version have some differences in the front lens. The 5G version of the main lens supports autofocus and can achieve front 4K HD video recording.
The Huawei nova 6 5G scored 100 points in DxOMark’s latest front camera review, ranking first among all high-end phones.
According to the camera review agency, the top 5 phones with the best front cameras are Huawei nova 6 5G (100 points), Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G (99 points), Asus ZenFone 6 (98 points), Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (97 points), Samsung Galaxy S10 + (96 points).
Specifically, Huawei nova 6 5G front camera scored 105 points (highest of all) for photo taking and 93 points for video taking (ranked first with Samsung Note 10+ 5G).
DxO said that Huawei nova 6 5G can get good exposure under any lighting conditions, excellent HDR effect, high picture latitude, excellent color performance, good color rendering of skin tone, accurate white balance, rich picture details, and noise.
In terms of the rear lens, nova 6 has three camera modules, which are 40MP main camera (F/1.8 aperture, AF) + 8MP telephoto (F/2.4 aperture, OIS optical image stabilization, AF) + 8MP Ultra wide angle (F/2.4 aperture, FF).

The 5G version of nova 6 has a 4200 mAh battery. The 4G version has only 4100 mAh due to the thickness of the body. Both support Huawei's 40W super fast charging technology.
In terms of other functions, nova 6 is equipped with an NFC chip as standard. The 3.5mm headphone jack is removed and the USB-C interface is used instead. The fuselage has dual card slots. The 5G version of nova 6 supports dual-card mixing.
In the system part, Huawei nova 6 is equipped with EMUI 10.1 system and is based on Android 10. It supports Huawei’s self-developed one-touch transmission and multi-screen collaboration software technology.
Huawei also released the nova 6 SE, equipped with Kirin 810 processor. It has a 6.4-inch screen, 4200mAh battery, 48MP AI rear camera, 16MP front camera, side fingerprint recognition and supports 40W Huawei super fast charge. It only has 8+128GB storage combination.
Huawei nova 6 5G has 8+128GB and 8+256GB versions, which are priced at 3,799 yuan/4,199 yuan, pre-sale will begin at 18:08 on December 5, and it will be available on December 12.
