Huawei's next-generation flagship processor could be named Kirin 1020 and the next-generation mid-range processor coule be named Kirin 820, according to Twitter user @RODENT950.
The Kirin 1020 will be used in the Huawei Mate 40 series to be released in the second half of next year, and the Huawei P40 series released early next year will continue to use the Kirin 990 5G processor, the user claimed on Wednesday.
Earlier, there were reports that industry sources said that Huawei has started trial production of Kirin 1000 processor using 5nm technology and will put it into commercial operation in the second half of next year. Kirin 990 chip uses A76 CPU architecture, Kirin 1000 will use A77 architecture.
The 5nm Kirin flagship chip will be available in the second half of next year. At present, there are two names for Kirin 1000 and Kirin 1020.
Previous reports said Huawei will continue to use Kirin 990 series processors in the upcoming Twitter user Teme reported that, in line with what the twitter user claimed.
