Tencent, the company that owns WeChat and QQ, has won the bid for the A002-0076 parcel of Shenzhen Da Chan Bay with a listed price of 8.52 billion yuan, the Shenzhen Land and Real Estate Trading Center said on Friday.
The area will be created into a science and technology city, with an area equivalent to three times the current office space of Tencent Shenzhen headquarters to will fill the gap in Tencent's office space.
The project will be completed and put into operation within 7 years from the acquisition of land use rights, and will be constructed in two phases, one of which will be completed and put into operation within 5 years from the acquisition of land use rights.
Public information shows that the A002-0076 parcel of land is located in Da Chan Bay, Xixiang Street, Baoan District. The land is set for industrial use, public management and service facilities and for transportation facilities.
The land area is 809,000 square meters, the construction area is 2 million square meters, the initial listing price is 8.52 billion yuan, the deposit is 1.704 billion yuan, and the land use life is 30 years.
The first phase of the development site must include conference centers, hotels, science and technology exhibition halls, data and smart control centers, school education facilities, supporting dormitories in industrial parks, sports activity centers, community health service centers, and bus terminals.
Major municipal transportation facilities such as Metro Line 9 West Extension Line, Line 15 and Mawan Passage will be available.
After the project is completed and operated, it is expected to accommodate 75,000 office workers and gather high-end professional talents.
