Shenzhen has installed more than 13,000 5G base stations and will complete the deployment of more than 40,000 on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone next year.

Shenzhen recently announced measures to speed up the development of the 5G industry.

Telecom operators who completed the 5G base station construction goals on time, each of the base stations constructed in SA mode will be awarded 10,000 yuan, and a single telecom operator will be awarded a maximum of 150 million yuan.

According to the plan, Shenzhen will build 15,000 5G base stations by the end of 2019 to achieve full coverage of 5G networks in key areas; by the end of August 2020, a total of 45,000 5G base stations will be built to achieve full coverage of the city's 5G networks.
