Honor's first 5G smartphone has become the cheapest so far. But the company wonโt stop here with its president saying the price of 5G phones will also drop significantly next year.
On November 26, Honor's first 5G mobile phone V30 series was officially released in Beijing. The price the entry level has dropped to 3299 yuan, which is currently the lowest 5G mobile phone in the industry.
As for the aggressive pricing strategy, George Zhao, President of Honor, stated that he wishes the 5G market to explode through such pricing.
Next year, in addition to retaining one or two 4G mobile phones, the rest will be all 5G products, and the price is expected to drop to the level of 2,000, 1,500 or even 1,000 yuan, he said.
As the industry is slowing down, competition in the mobile phone market is particularly fierce. In George Zhao's view, "the end product is 'the boat goes against the water, if you don't advance, you will retreat.'"
In order to further seize the upcoming wave of 5G phone replacements, Honor has also accelerated the speed of offline retail deployment this year.
The brand under Huawei that has been labeled with the Internet label since its inception, offline retail volume has surpassed online in 2019, with a total of nearly 2,000 stores opened.
But Honor 's ambitions don't stop there. "Our future strategic goal is to be the 'Top 2' of the Chinese market." George Zhao said.
In addition, Chen Jin, the general manager of Lenovo's China mobile phone business department, also said that Lenovo will give priority to 5G technology applications and implement the "All in 5G" strategy, and Lenovo Mobile will no longer launch new 4G mobile phones.
