Report: Huawei Mate X will start at 9999 yuan in China-CnTechPost

Huawei Mate X, the companyโ€™s first foldable phone, is set to be launched on Oct 23 in China . The only thing we didnโ€™t know was the price tag but now we have an early expectation on that.

The device will be available in two variants.

The Kirin 980 version will be available at 9,999 yuan ($1414), while the Kirin 990 5G version will come at 13,999 yuan ($1979), according to Huawei Central.

If this turns out to be true, the Chinese version of the Huawei Mate X will be much cheaper than the European version.

At the deviceโ€™s original launch event, Huawei announced the phone will cost 2,299 euros ($2565) in Europe but also said Chinaโ€™s price wonโ€™t be higher than that in Europe.

In the meantime, a speed test by a Huawei executive shows the download speed of the 5G device can go up to 745 Mbps in Wuzhen, where the World Internet Conference is being held.

The device will come in two different SoCโ€™s, the first batch will be equipped with Kirin 980 + Balong 5000 and the second batch will be powered by Kirin 990 (5G).

There is a 4500mAh battery supporting 55W super-fast charge. This allows the phone to charge 85% in 30 minutes. At last, this phone supports 5G.
