BlackBerry owner doesn't see the point of 5G phone-CnTechPost

As manufacturers around the world racing to launch 5G phones, one brand is an exception. That is BlackBerry.

โ€œI don't see the point of 5G on a BlackBerry,โ€ said TCL's general manager of marketing Stefan Streit, according to Pocket Lint.

โ€œIt's not an entertainment device and you can already get your email really fast,โ€ the representative reportedly added.

Streit suggested that they could โ€œmaybeโ€ apply 5G to a refrigerator or 8K TV instead. TCL is BlackBerry Mobile's parent company.

This doesn't mean TCL isn't jumping on the 5G bandwagon though, as Streit says the company has a device on offer for 2020.

โ€œWe will launch an affordable (below $600-500) phone by the middle of next year,โ€ the representative noted. Itโ€™s unclear whether this will be a TCL-branded device or an Alcatel-branded phone.
