Apple TV China Edition said to have won green light to go on sale

Apple TV China Edition has been approved, Weibo blogger @Voooolks said on April 25, without giving further details.

Two weeks ago, Weibo blogger @MacchiatoJacky said Apple TV China Edition has passed the first step of review and is working on the rest of the approvals.

@MacchiatoJacky said Apple TV China Edition has popular Chinese video platforms built-in, including Tencent Video, iQIYI, and Bilibili, and will launch in September or November.

Apple last week announced Apple TV 4K with the A12 chip, support for Dolby Vision, and high frame rates for HDR content, the first update to Apple TV since 2007.

Apple TV 4K will be available overseas in late May for $179 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB version.

While Apple TV has been well received overseas, it has never made it to the Chinese market.
