Chinese tech giant Lenovo said on April 13 that one of its goals is to become No. 1 globally in all PC categories while maintaining industry-leading profitability.
In his speech, Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing pointed out five goals for this company for the new fiscal year.
The goal for the mobile business is to maintain profitable growth and expand the market with innovative 5G products. The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) business aims to achieve double-digit year-on-year growth.
Lenovo's Solutions & Services Group (SSG) business aims to build five replicable vertical industry solution cases with beacon effect and to grow revenue twice as fast as the company, Yang said.
The goal of the China and international sales groups is to build on the existing Intelligent Devices Group sales platform, maximize synergies across businesses, and achieve more than 20 percent growth with ISG and SSG.
In addition, Yang pointed out three trends the company is facing.
The first trend is the escalation of information consumption. In mature markets, this is the transition from "one PC/tablet per family" to "one PC/tablet per person".
In emerging markets, it's a transition from "one cell phone per person" to "one cell phone plus computer/tablet per person," Yang said.
The second trend is information infrastructure upgrades. Customers are buying computing power, solutions, applications, and service orientation. What they need is the whole process of infrastructure design, construction, operation, and maintenance services.
The third trend is the upgrade from digital to intelligent applications. The core is artificial intelligence, built on the basis of data, computing power, and algorithms.
