ZTE says it has shipped more than 200 million units of its embedded operating system, NewStart CGEL, said a company executive.
NewStart CGEL, which ships 20 million units per year, is already in mass use on the 350-km-per-hour Fuxing high-speed rail, said Lv Qianhao, ZTE's Head of Consumer Experiences and Strategy.
ZTE said NewStart CGEL supports embedded underlying virtualization, container technology, multi-core, multi-architecture, and multi-driver.
It also supports highly customized technical services, including system performance optimization, driver custom development, and driver optimization.
NewStart CGEL is widely used in the communications industry, smart power industry, smart automotive electronics industry, and high-speed rail transportation industry, according to ZTE.
NewStart was developed by a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZTE. The company was founded in 2004 as basic software development and CPI broadband IoT solution provider.
