Chinese memory module maker Gloway said Tuesday it will significantly increase production this year to ease memory price hikes caused by a global DRAM supply shortage.
Although the company's Yi Pro series is currently in serious shortage, rumors suggest that Gloway's chip supplier ChangXin Memory will increase production by 50% this year.
With ChangXin's increased production, Gloway's memory capacity will also increase significantly, curbing the trend of continued memory price increases.
Gloway launched the 8GB DDR4 3000 PC memory Yi Pro last year for RMB 239 ($36.7).
The memory module has a voltage of 1.35V, timings of 16-18-18-38, and supports XMP 2.0 overclocking.
The Gloway Yi PRO is equipped with ChangXin's 1X nm-class DDR4 memory chips and features an 8-layer PCB design.
