Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has opened its Xi'an R&D center, which will mainly host project debugging and development and algorithm pre-research in the field of imaging, providing technical support for accelerating the materialization of R&D results.
The R&D center is located in Xi'an Software New City, with an initial team size of 200 people.
Vivo said it will support the company's upgrading and optimization in the field of imaging R&D and help the team focus on building professional imaging flagships and providing ultimate experiences for customers.
The center will engage in technology exchanges and business cooperation with affiliated companies, as well as cooperation on technology and exchanges of talent with relevant universities in Xi'an to leverage synergies, Vivo said.
Since 2017, Vivo has established or partnered with global imaging R&D centers in Shenzhen, Taipei, Tokyo and San Diego. Its team is currently over 700 people in size, focusing on hardware and software development, arithmetic enhancement, and cutting-edge technology research.
